Zelda Mae Paxton Wade, 74, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at her home in Batesville.

Zelda was born on May 10, 1946, the daughter of Ulysses Ray and Opal Arizona (Stevens) Paxton, in Fifty-Six, Arkansas.  Zelda married Elmer Ray Wade on March 18, 1963.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed family getting together and sharing special times.  She loved to go to yard sales and her hobbies would include hours of puzzle books and Jigsaw puzzles.

Zelda was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers, Virgil Paxton and Charles J.M. Paxton; two sisters, Gerean Brady and Imolene Rolins.

She is survived by her daughters, Velvet (Dale) Prewitt, of Locust Grove, Rhonda Duncan, of Southside, and Carla Wade, of Desha; son, Warren (Helen) Wade, of Batesville, sisters, Linda (Neldon) Hester, of Southside, and Shirley Hubbs, of Jonesboro; sister in-law, Mary Wade of Batesville; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2020, at Doty Southside Funeral Chapel, 2180 Batesville Blvd, Southside, with Bro. Larry Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderbrook Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Chris Pretty, Charlie Wade, Blake Duncan, Nate Petite, Marty Rolins, and Randy Vick.

We will be following the CDC and Arkansas Department of Health guidelines which allows our facility to accommodate a maximum of 50 people which include family members.  Face coverings must be worn to enter the facility and social distancing will be enforced.
