William Paul Taunton, Jr.

William “Sonny” Paul Taunton Jr, 63, of Batesville, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born on January 10, 1962, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to William Paul Taunton, Sr., and Geneva Avarice Brumley.

Sonny was the proud father of seven children: Brooke Nicole Saha (Shiva) of New Jersey, Morgan Danielle Clark (Chris) of Batesville, AR, Alexandra Louise Martin (Russ) of Texas, Caroline Cheramie Skjordal (Thomas) of North Dakota, Ethan Paul Taunton of Texas, Hudson Taylor Taunton of Texas, and Luke Elliott Taunton of Texas.

He attended the University of Arkansas before beginning a variety of careers, and retired as a construction project manager, a position he held for many years.

Sonny enjoyed hunting and fishing, but above all, he loved to “call the hogs”. Despite the obstacles he faced with his health, he was a man of strength and persistence, who never faltered in his faith or his love for those closest to him.

William was a member of First Baptist Church in Anson, Texas.

William is preceded in death by his father.

William will be greatly missed by his children, his eight grandchildren, his mother, Geneva Avarice Brumley of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and his sister, Rhonda Lynn (John) Bender of Bella Vista, Arkansas.
