Samuel Richard Frontiera, 81, of Batesville, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in Batesville. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 18, 1944, to Samuel Frontiera and Yolanda Victoria Ragusa. 

Samuel worked in the Department of Correction for over twenty-two years and was a charter boat captain into his retirement on Lake Michigan. He was a member of the New Hope Community Church in Shelby, Michigan.

Being a proud Italian, Samuel was blessed with a Sicilian family history.  Both sets of his grandparents came from Sicily, Italy. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and golfing. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Vickie Hampton Frontiera, of the home; his sons, Steven Frontiera, of Austin, Texas, Samuel Richard Frontiera, of Michigan, and Samuel Jason Frontiera, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his daughters, Roberta (Jim) Holod, of Michigan, Yolanda Marie Frontiera, Michigan; his step-children, Lisa Hostler, Jack Schluckbier, Guy Schluckbier, and Don Schluckbier; his brothers, Louis Frontiera, Joseph Frontiera, Christopher Frontiera; his sisters, Rosalie Frontiera Minella, Frances Davidson, Joanne Frontiera, Patricia Chambers, Dianne Fayazza; many well loved grandchildren; great grandchildren; Rebeca Carpenter, the mother of his children, Orisa, Samuel, and Yolanda. He will be remembered as a “great” uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Samuel is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; daughter, Orisa Frontiera; grandson, Sylvan Everett; brothers, Frank Frontiera, Walter Frontiera; and his sister, Jeanette Fuentez.
