Richard Wayne Owen, Sr.

Richard Wayne Owen, Sr. left us too soon on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in Batesville, at the age of 65.  He was born on January 6, 1961, inn Boston, Massachusetts, to James Owen and Bessie King Owen.  He was a retired Mason and did masonry work.

Richard was a most passionate man who loved spending time with his family.  He was free spirited, gentle, and kind hearted.  He enjoyed the outdoors especially driving around in the snow.  His passion would be working in the masonry industry and fishing. Richard was one who enjoyed helping others when he had the opportunity.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of fourteen years, Sherilee Owen, of Concord; son, Aaron (Jenny) Owen, of Batesville; daughter, Kristina (Jeremy) Collins, of Batesville; stepsons, Buz (Maranda) Cooper, of Grapevine; Cliff (Jackie) Cooper, of Concord; Mikey Cooper, of Pleasant Plains; grandchildren, Kaydence, Laney, Cristian, Hazelynn, Wyatt, Maddox, Mackenzi, Michael, LC, Brylee, Wesley, Elizabeth, and Madelyn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Richard Owen, Jr. of Kensett. 

Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Southside.
