Paul Smith, 89, of Newport, departed this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He was born in Greenway, Arkansas, on May 19, 1933, to J. L. Smith and Mamie Rickman Smith. During his working years he was involved in agriculture and farming. He served our country in the Army.
He was a member of Ruddle Hill Baptist Church in Batesville.
Paul loved the farm and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his son, Rockey (Tammie) Smith, of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Paula (Bill) Kell, of Houston, Texas; sister Betty Mobley, of Batesville, grandchildren, Joshua, Jess, Lauren (Brad), Will, and Katie; two great grandchildren; and many family friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Turner, son, Clifford, parents, and brother, William Smith.
