Orville Edward Berg, Jr.

Orville Edward Berg Jr., 76, of Arkansas, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on January 15, 1950, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, the son of Orville Edward Berg Sr.

In 1987, Orville answered God's call into ministry and faithfully served as a Free Will Baptist minister for nearly four decades. Through his preaching, counseling, and compassionate heart, he touched countless lives and faithfully shared the message of Jesus Christ throughout the area.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Orville shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Shelly Martin Berg. Together they built a home rooted in faith, love, and family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shelly Berg; his son, Kenny Berg (Monica); and his daughter, Lindsey Ellis (Geoff); his granddaughters, Ashley Berg, Kaylee Bloomfield (Tristen), and Ava Freeman; his great-grandson, Alden Bloomfield; and his favorite little companion, Bella.

Orville will be remembered for his unwavering faith, gentle spirit, servant's heart, and steadfast commitment to helping others. Whether standing behind the pulpit, visiting someone in need, or spending time with his family, he lived a life that reflected the love and grace of Christ.

Though he will be greatly missed, his family rejoices in the assurance that he is now at home with the Lord, hearing the words, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.”  Matthew 25:23

A Memorial Service celebrating Orville’s Life and Ministry will be planned at a later date.
