Linda Gale Evans Brown, 72, of Southside, departed this life on Monday, June 30, 2025, in Searcy. She was born in Newport, Arkansas, on April 19, 1953, to W. Arnold Evans and Levern and Johnnie Sandefur.
For those who loved good cooking and ate at Kelley Wyatt’s in Batesville, they may remember Linda being a night cook for well over twenty years. She cooked at two different locations making amazing pies and different types of food. Being a people person Linda made friends easily no matter what age and she loved interacting with them.
Along with her husband, Jerry, she was a member of Desha Baptist Church in Desha. She enjoyed helping families whether it was providing a meal, helping in the church activities, or working in the classrooms. She loved her family very much and will be missed greatly.
Linda and Jerry Brown were married in Sulphur Rock on July 15, 1989, and enjoyed over thirty-six years of marriage.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jerry, of the home; her children, Shannon Moore, of Benton, Kelly (Jerry) Elrod, of Benton, Tonya Spurlin, of Clinton, Jesica (Dustin) Bishop, of Batesville, Brittney (Brian) Alexander, of Malvern, Billy (Angela) Brown, of Benton, Patty (Jamie) Freeman, of Benton, and Jennifer Brown, of Benton; her step-sister, Marie (Bill) Qualls, of Sulphur Rock; twenty-six grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and several nieces; nephews; and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Marie Lunsford, Alford Evans, Barbara Davenport, Lou McKinzie, step-sister, Vernal Young; one son, Benji Brown.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Desha Baptist Church with Bro. Troy Sharp officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2389 N. St. Louis, Batesville, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Bishop, Ryan Bishop, Jerry Elrod, James Miller, Brian Alexander, Jimmy Don Evans, and Brady Dyer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Marcus Elrod, Angela Miller, Dalton Miller, Chris McClanahan, Brett Tanner, Cody Tanner, Chanler Brown, Billy M. Brown, Tori Elrod Wooden, Brinlyn Alexander, and Braegan Alexander.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.
