Larry Dean Cossey, born on November 10, 1952, in Batesville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026, in Franklin, Arkansas, surrounded by his family at the age of 73.

Larry was born on November 10, 1952, in Batesville, Arkansas to Bryan and Evelyn (Duncan) Cossey.

He found great fulfillment in riding horses, an activity he cherished throughout his life. He was an avid outdoorsman who delighted in hunting rabbits and fishing, always eager to share stories and experiences with family and friends. Raising beagles was one of his passions, and he took pride in caring for his animals.

Larry's legacy is most deeply felt in the bonds he created with his family. He is survived by his devoted children: sons Jason Cossey and Devin Cossey (Cacia) all of Franklin, Arkansas; daughter Tonya Payne of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas; sister, Vickie Harmon of Batesville, Arkansas and grandchildren, Emma Cossey, Willow Cossey, Erin Allen, and Autumn Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Cossey; parents; brothers Jerry Cossey, Melvin Cossey, Wayne Cossey, and Ira Cossey; sisters Dorene Brown, Laverne Turner, and Lorene Shelly.

Funeral services will be held on July 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Doty Southside Funeral Service Chapel, located at 2180 Batesville Blvd, Batesville, Arkansas, with Tommie Boles officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

Larry's time on this earth, though now ended, leaves a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his love of the outdoors, and the steadfast care he showed to family and friends.
