John Wayne Watson

John Wayne Watson, “JW”, 62, of Batesville, departed this life on Saturday, March 14, 2026. in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born on April 12, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to Marshall P. Watson and Herman Mae Watson.

Being an outdoorsman, John enjoyed traveling, exploring, fishing, and was known as a “free spirited” individual. He worked in the timber industry, providing tree services to many throughout his lifetime. John was known to fix anything with a motor and enjoying tinkering with projects. He never met a stranger and enjoyed his Sunday mornings at church and afternoons fishing at the lake. Along his adventures, he always seemed to find special treasures that he was proud to show off or give to family and friends.

John will be remembered by his loving family, son, Jonathan Wayne Watson; sister, Vonda Browning; brothers, Elwin Browning, Kelly Browning, Benny Joe Watson, Robert Lee Watson and Tom Watson; along with numerous nieces; nephews; and best friends, Randy Todd, Sam Ellis, and Roger Walker.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers, Stanton and Loyde Browning, Ray and James Watson.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
