John (Johnny) Christopher Gilpatrick

John Christopher “Johnny” Gilpatrick, 48, of Batesville, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. He was born on May 16, 1972 to John Charles Gilpatrick and Beverly Gist Verser in Batesville.

Johnny worked for YELCOT as an installer and repairman servicing the towns of Batesville, Calico Rock, and Melbourne. His love for technology introduced him to working for AT&T earlier in his working years.  He also worked with the Independence County Sheriff's Office.  Johnny loved his family especially his daughters, Jodi, and Shelby who he thought “hung the moon." Johnny always had a smile and loved to give hugs or pats on the back.  He never met a stranger and all who knew him loved him.  He loved animals and kids and was a people person.  You could often see him hanging out in Melbourne at Bailey’s Home Cooking, The Burger Center, or Mark’s Pharmacy.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, brother, Jody Gilpatrick, and stepfather, Dan Verser.

He is survived by his wife, Amber, of the home; mother, Beverly Verser, of Batesville; daughters, Jodi Gilpatrick of Batesville, Shelby Vanhorn (Ryan) of Batesville; step-daughters, Lexie Johnson, of Salem, Schyler Grayson, of Batesville; step-son, Micah Grayson, of Batesville; step-brother, Kevin Verser (Kim) of Tumbling Shoals, and Mike Verser (Olivia) of Tumbling Shoals.

A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Believers Community Church in Batesville with Bro. Reagan Shearer officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
