James (Jim) Paul Dugas, Jr.

James (Jim) Paul Dugas, Jr., 60, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in Batesville. He was born in Houma, Louisiana, to James Dugas, Sr., and Grace Frances Scurto.

He is survived by his son, James Dugas, III, of Batesville; his granddaughter, Gracelynn; his father, James Dugas, Sr., of Youngsville, Louisiana; his sisters, Denise (David) Rosenbluth, of Springfield, Missouri, and Kimberly (Stuart) Bishop, of Youngsville, Louisiana; his nephews; extended family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Grace; and a daughter, Alyssa.

Jim was a most gifted man who worked in computer programming with various control systems. He was a man of boundless curiosity, quick wit, and extraordinary talent. Known for his ability to fix absolutely anything—whether it was a complex piece of machinery or an intricate electronic circuit—Jim approached the world with a desire to understand exactly how it worked and how to make it better. He was a lifelong learner who never stopped striving to expand his mind.

His passion for technology shone through his love of electronics, which he turned into both a hobby and a way to bring joy to others. He was an avid creator, spending countless hours building electronics and 3D printing. He delighted in sharing these creations, and the custom gadgets and figures he made were always a hit with those who were lucky enough to receive them. He was famously quick with a joke, ready to lighten the mood and bring a smile to the faces of those around him. His brilliant mind, handy spirit, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
