Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandy, of the home; his son, David King (Candi), of Southside; his daughter, April Mobley, of Inman, South Carolina; his brothers, Harold King, of Wichita, Kansas, and Larry King, of Southside; his grandsons, Tyler King (Marian), of whom he had a very special relationship with, being the first grandson and spent much time together while Tyler was growing up. Additional grandsons, Landen Mobley, and Dylan King; his great-granddaughter, Emily Curtis; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

Per his request, he asked that there be no services and in his remembrance hang a bird feeder or put up a bird house and remember him for the jokester that he was.
