Evelyn Julieta Talamantes

Our hearts are broken at the passing of our beloved Evelyn Julieta Talamantes, 54, of Batesville. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by our family. 

Evelyn was born on January 30, 1971, in Chiantla, Guatemala, to Elfego Alfonso Cartagena and Magnolina Argentina Del Valle.  She was a homemaker and care giver to her family.

Evelyn loved to go shopping, especially the yard sales, and she enjoyed cooking for her family at the lake.  Most importantly she loved her church, Centro Cristiano de Batesville, where she attended faithfully.  

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Elvis Haroldo, of the home: her daughters, Jhoana Cartagena, of Guatemala, Dulce Cartagena, of Guatemala, Mayary Cartagena, of Guatemala; her sons, Ogler Cartagena, of Guatemala, Angel Daetz, of Cave City, Elvis Minera, of Batesville; her grandchildren, Carlos Cartagena, Darolyn Cartagena, Brandon Cartagena, Dulce Cartagena, Paula Cartagena, Gael Cartagena, all of Guatemala, Bryson Daetz, Julien Daetz, Leon Daetz, all of Cave City, Elvis Minera, Jr., of Batesville.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Victor Alfonso Minera.

A Visitation Service will be Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Centro Cristiano de Batesville Church, 750 S. 17th Street in Batesville with Pastor Bernardo Garcia officiating.

Graveside Service will be Monday, June 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kyler Cemetery with Pastor Bernardo Garcia officiating.

Pallbearers will be Elvis Minera, Angel Daetz, Anthony Moreno, Jarrett Vickers, Lane Holman, and Trinity Dyer. 

Memorials may be made to the Doty Southside Funeral Service, 2180 Batesville Blvd, Batesville, Arkansas, 72501, to assist with funeral expenses.
