Douglas Marion Pearson, 81, of Southside, departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2024. He was born in Melbourne, Arkansas, to G. W. And Elizabeth Pearson. During his working years he worked in processing for over twenty seven years for the Townsend Poultry Plant.
He and his wife, Alice Fay, enjoyed over forty-eight years of marriage until her death in 2005. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Douglas loved being outdoors whether it was camping, fishing or hunting. He and his sons enjoyed many years of hunting together especially hog hunting. He also enjoyed sitting on his porch watching his grandchildren playing.
He is survived by his four sons, Terry Pearson, of Southside, James Pearson, of Sidney, Walter (Teresa) Pearson, of Southside, and Douglas (Ann) Pearson, Jr., of Salado; his daughter, Lahoma Shaw, of Texarkana, Texas; his brothers, Carol Pearson, of Prescott, and Jim Pearson, of Prescott; his sister, Lucille Starks, of Desha; his grandchildren, David, Nathan, Darwin, Dallas, John, Gloria, Kimberly, Jennifer, Ashley, Tosha, Travis, Gina, Tina, Don, Jessica, Terry, Martin, Donny, Shannon, Nickey, Stephanie, Helen, Joseph, and Daniel; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice Fay, daughter, Mary Ann, daughter in-law, Jean, grandson, Josh, and one brother, Bob.
The family will gather at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, in the Chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service with Graveside Service to follow in the Egner Cemetery in Southside with Mac Brokaw officiating beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Terry Pearson, James Pearson, Walter Pearson, Douglas Pearson, Jr., James Randleas, and Nate Goude.
