Dickson Alan Rugel

Dickson Alan Rugel, 66, of Southside, departed this life on Saturday, August 31, 2024. He was born on November 1, 1957, in Mesa, Arizona to Joseph Rugel and Louise Marie Morse Rugel.

Dickson and Margaret Kaye McLaughlin were married on September 2, 2015 in Southside.  He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Southside.

He enjoyed his church family very much and enjoyed driving the van for the Independence County Senior Citizen Center. He loved wood working, traveling, and enjoying cups of coffee with friends in the morning especially at the MorningSide Coffee House.  He loved his family and many friends especially the time he spent with them. 

Dickson is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; his brothers, Dennis Rugel and wife, Pat, of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Sam Rugel and wife, Ruth, of Tucson, Arizona; his sister, Susan Chasey and husband, Alan, of Gilbert, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Rugel.

A Celebration of Dick's Life will be Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Dailey officiating.
