Charles Franklin Johnston

Charles Franklin Johnston, 59, of Desha, departed this life on Monday, October 2, 2023.  He was born on December 11, 1963 in Bellflower, California, to Clarence Franklin Johnston and Mary Clark Johnston.

During his life he was a truck driver and a musician.  He enjoyed traveling, writing music, and singing. He was a golden glove champion in boxing.  He also loved the beach, fast cars, and the countryside.

Charles is survived by his children, Jesse and Jami Jones, of Paragould, Khaled and Sky Cooper, Kalynn and John Higgs, of Batesville, Cohen Strother, of California, Kyra and Kevin Kling, of Desha, Nicole Johnston, of Florida; his mother, Mary Clark; brothers, Randy and Ron Wardrup, of Fort Smith; his sisters, Terry Sterling and Sherry Goodson; eight grandchildren, including Asia, Noah, Braxtin, Finleigh, James, Ryleigh, Harlequinn; several nephews; nieces; friend, Chris Evans; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, a granddaughter, Danyelle, and best friend, Khaled Cooper.

A Gathering to Celebrate the life of Charles will be announced at a later date.
