Betty Sue Maxwell - Juhant

Betty Sue Maxwell - Juhant, of Batesville, Arkansas, died Monday, July 7, 2025, at home after a brief battle with cancer. Although Betty was born into a world of silence she was one of the loudest people I know, never once allowing the silence to stop her from communicating with the world and making sure everyone understood her.

Born in Elaine, Arkansas, on November 12, 1949, Betty attended Arkansas School for the Deaf and went on to obtain her Beautician's license because she loved to do hair! She was united in marriage to Joseph Juhant on December 27, 2011. Betty was multi talented, having a knack for painting, decorating and all forms of sewing; she was brilliant as well as beautiful, she believed in living life to its fullest never letting her inability to hear get in her way.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband Joseph Juhant, her son Jessie Stitcher; granddaughter; Sterling Lynn Stitcher; great granddaughter Emma Lynn Stitcher; sister and brother in law Marilyn Kay and Carl Ward; nieces Tonya, Sandy, Sylvia, Tammy and Dawn; nephews Zachary, Billy Eugene, Charles, Bobby Joe and Jeramie as well as numerous cousins.

Betty was preceded in death by both her parents Joe Maxwell, Audrey Maxwell and stepmother Coral Maxwell; her sister Shirley Louise Hale and brothers Billy, Bobby and Joseph Maxwell as well as nephew Chad Maxwell.

Betty was loved by everyone but especially her nieces and nephews, teaching them that just because she was deaf, she was not hadicapped! We will all miss her so much.

Burial will be in Houston, Arkansas, at May Cemetery; the family is asking that her burial remain a private event attended by her family.
